We provide the following levels of care and assign members to the following mental health practitioners according to the identified need, its severity, and the type of care required.

Levels of care

We provide the following levels of care, depending on clinical necessity:

Mental health

  • Psychiatric partial hospitalization
  • Psychiatric hospitalization

Addiction and recovery

  • Outpatient services (includes opioid substitution therapies)
  • Intensive outpatient treatment
  • Subacute services
  • Partial hospitalization
  • Residential Treatment
  • Medically supervised inpatient services
  • Medically managed inpatient services

Types of practitioners

The type of mental health practitioner a member is assigned to depend on a member's coverage, the identified need, its severity, and the type of care indicated.

Licensed masters level therapists

  • Assessment
  • Individual, family, and group counseling

Certified addiction and recovery professionals

  • Assessment
  • Individual, family, and group counseling
  • Education

Licensed nurse practitioners

  • Diagnostic evaluations and consultations
  • Medication management and therapy

Licensed psychologists

  • Diagnostic evaluation and testing
  • Individual and family therapy with identified complex cases

Licensed psychiatrists

  • Medication evaluation and management
  • Consultation
  • Illness episode management
  • Inpatient treatment
  • Diagnosis and procedures unique to physicians (for example, electroconvulsive therapy)

Licensed physicians

  • Medication evaluation and management for opioid substitution
